Finding Community Through Zines (special workshop) In-Person
This hands-on workshop will explore the power of self-publishing and creative expression. Zines, small, self-published booklets, have long been used by marginalized communities to share stories, build solidarity, and challenge mainstream narratives. In this special session, participants will learn about the rich history and cultural significance of zines as tools for activism, identity, and connection. We’ll examine how zines foster community and give voice to underrepresented perspectives. Attendees will also have the opportunity to create their own mini zine to take home, using simple materials and prompts to spark creativity. This workshop is open to all students, faculty, and community members—no artistic experience needed.
